Movie Night:
The third Saturday of each month at 6:00pm, Tim Dees hosts a movie night at his home in SE Kennewick.
He has a 52-inch high-def TV, a surround-sound system, and lots of comfy chairs. Movie selections are by
popular choice, from those currently available on cable, from his DVD collection, or someone can always
bring a DVD to be offered as a choice. He supplies light snacks and beverages--items to share are always welcome.
He prefers that no alcoholic beverages be consumed. There is a friendly (sometimes too friendly) dog on the premises.
Contact him at tim@timdees.com to get address, directions, Google Map, phone
number, and any other details.
American Mensa has approximately 50,000 members who
come from all walks of life and all levels of society. However,
they share one trait - high intelligence. To qualify for Mensa,
one must score in the top 2% of the general population on
a standardized intelligence test. Five million Americans are
eligible for Mensa membership. As an organization, American
Mensa provides intelligent individuals an opportunity to meet
other smart people at the local, regional, and national levels.
Columbia River Mensa is a local chapter of American Mensa
whose boundaries cover a large portion of the state of Washington,
from Oregon in the south to the Canadian border in the north.
Our ranks are growing ever stronger, as more and more interesting
people test for and accept membership into our group. Our
local group was the proud recipient of the prestigious Prodigious
Owl award in 2003, awarded to the group with the most
growth for the year. If you are interested in joining, please visit our
Testing Page for information on upcoming tests in your area.
Mensans interact at entertaining events and exchange ideas
through a variety of publications. Mensa members also work
to help others in their communities by providing scholarships
and volunteering for community-oriented activities.
Columbia River Mensa holds monthly meetings on the fourth
Saturday of the month, with other events, such as games nights,
social get-togethers, plays and festivals, etc., scheduled
throughout the year. Encompassing such a large geographical
area, we try to cover a lot of ground.
If you would like to suggest or host an event anywhere in
our area, please contact the local
secretary.
