What's News with CRM?

A huge congratulations to Tim Dees in receiving a well-deserved Regional Service Award! It is no exaggeration to say Tim Dees has been the vital part of keeping Columbia River Mensa alive. Every occasion the group has had a difficult position to fill, Tim has stepped forward to fill those shoes and keep the team going. Since 2008, Tim has served as Testing Coordinator, Proctor and Treasurer for Columbia River Mensa. In addition to his regular duties as our treasurer, he also kept the books for our last Regional Gathering and helped present Columbia River Mensa's donation check to Delta STEM high school in Pasco.

He recently took over duties of newsletter editor.

An expert cat herder, Tim has organized our weekly gathering, scheduling meetings well into the future so even the most absent minded individuals are able to keep on track. He has opened his home to movie nights and other events. As a member of our Executive Committee since 2008, he has been a constantly steadying linchpin, retaining and sharing our corporate knowledge and often speaking the voice of reason. A Mensan for a long time, he speaks from experience as he previously served as Local Secretary for one of his previous Local Groups.

In his professional life, Tim served his communities by performing his duties as a Police Officer, Educator and an Emergency Medical Technician. He continues his service to our community volunteering for Meals on Wheels delivering meals to Senior Citizens and the Disabled. In that role, he is often the only social contact for some of his clients.

Tim received his award at the October monthly dinner at Napoli
